Students receive additional practice brainstorming ideas, categorizing ideas, and writing more detailed sentences.

A series of expository essay prompts are introduced. Scaffold instruction is provided as students become more independent with the writing process and begin to internalize strategies for writing, revising, and self-regulation.

The FIX Strategy for Persuasive Essay Writing

Students receive additional practice brainstorming ideas, categorizing ideas, and writing more detailed sentences.

Grammar and Vocabulary

Writing begins with proper grammar, vocabulary, and punctuation.

Students will practice identifying and using different parts of speech in their writing. They will also be introduced to proper use of punctuation from commas and periods to semicolons and dashes. Worksheets focus on improving receptive and expressive language skills by developing students' in-depth knowledge of vocabulary and their use of proper grammar.
